Recently, Central ENT Consultant's Dr. Kirby Scott, our Audiologist Dr. Michelle Garrett, and our Office Manager April Evans have been out and about!  We attended the Annual Oticon Conference a few weeks ago, and a week ago we were fortunate enough to be a part of the 2013 Senior Expo in Hagerstown.

Putting the Needs of People First

Dr. Michelle Garrett and Dr. Kirby Scott of Central ENT/Central Audiology Attends conference on Patient-Centered Care

Dr. Michelle Garrett of Central ENT/Central Audiology in Hagerstown, MD, was among leading hearing health care professionals from across the U.S. invited to attend the Oticon Clinical Grand Rounds Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The three-day conference focused on improving patient care in multi-disciplinary practices such as hospitals and ENT Clinics that offer patiens coordinated care and seamless access to hearing care specialists.

"The goal of the multi-specialty practice is to optimize each patient's personal journey to better hearing," says April Evans, Office Manager of Central ENT Consultants.  "State-of-the-art facilities and technologies and highly skilled and credentialed staff are among the many benefits we provide."

Conference participants discussed ways to ensure a sucessful journey for the patient through the clinical experience, looking at a number of key factors including prvious experience with hearing instruments, stage of readiness and socialand employment considerations.  Participants also explored the newest research and techniques to strengthen interpersonal relationships between the patient and all members of the clinical staff - from practitioner to front desk administrators.

Dr. Garrett and Dr. Scott points out that hearing care at Central ENT/Central Audiology is designed to exceed expectaions not only in the range of hearing solutions provided but also in the quality of one-on-one care that each patient receives.  "We aim to empower patients and their families to actively participate in the 'journey' to a successful and satisfying outcome," April Evans explains.
